      WOW, I can hardly believe its been almost 4 years since we started Sunshine Wedding Company!  Blessed is the best word to describe how I feel in my personal life and my career. 2009 definitely has been one of the best years of my life.  My husband Ray and I had our third child, Natalie Grace in May of this year, yes folks right smack dab in the middle of our busiest month and I am proud to say I worked right up to the eve of her birth!   She is the light of our lives, a true gift from God. Our older children Brendan and Zoe absolutely adore Natalie and can't imagine life without her. It was definitely an interesting wedding season juggling new Mommy and Wedding Lady(which is what most of you call me:) but we made it through without a hitch (or should I say with lots of people getting hitched, LOL). Thank you to all that kept up with my pregnancy and were so kind and generous to check on Mommy and baby and some even brought gifts.  My standing joke for having a third child, yes we figured we weren't busy enough or stressed enough with the wedding business we thought we'd throw a new baby in the mix!!  So now with three children, two dogs (we recently said good bye to our beloved Maddy Dog after thirteen years with our family, we will miss her) and a full time wedding/photography business we are completely fulfilled!! 

The past four years in this business have been incredible, so many of you have continued to email us year after year thanking us for making your day everything you had imagined......we even have some couples return every year to have their family beach portrait taken.  The most rewarding thing imaginable is to receive that phone call from a new client telling us they were referred by one of our previous couples.  That tells me we must be doing something right!!  My husband Ray and I try to stay true to our original commitment, we said,"the day this stops being fun is the day we stop working in this business".  I do admit its not always rainbows and butterflies(although occasionally we will be blessed with a beautiful rainbow or a monarch butterfly passing through :). To know that I have a hand in a day that will be remembered for many many years is such a gift, and we take every wedding to heart, this is not just a business for us, it is someone's wedding day.....one of the most important days of your life!

What's our Story?  Ray and I met in 1998 at our best friend's wedding (so cliche' but true!), we were friends instantly, I hoped to see him again and he was interested in one of my girlfriends, she was not interested in him, LOL!!  We met up again in October of 1999 and it's history from there.......we married in August of 2000 at a beautiful Civil War Mansion in Murfreesboro, Tennessee just outside of Nashville.  We honeymooned in Destin, Florida........that is what led to our move here in November of 2004.  I carried my real estate license from Tennessee and immediately started selling homes with the booming market that we had here on the Emerald Coast, Ray searched for a full time position in sales and also began DJ'ing for wedding receptions on the weekends.  This is how we started meeting wonderful people in the wedding industry and were offered our own opportunity in February of 2006.  In the beginning our thoughts were for me to run the business just on the weekends, we never expected our business to grow as fast as it did, by July of 2006 Ray was able to retire from corporate America and come and work for me, every wife's dream.....really. :)  Yes we are together every single minute of every single day....it may not work for some married couples, but it works for us and I wouldn't have it any other way.  When we are not working we love spending time with our three children, and on occasion bring them to work with us.  We love to fish, my biggest catch to date was a 3 foot sand shark a couple of years ago, yes they call me Shark Girl ;). We never have much luck fishing, but who really needs to catch fish when you are on the beach, it's a great excuse!!

When you see us on the beach you will be sure to see some of our favorite people working with us.  My parents, Bonnie and Wendell have been with Sunshine since the very beginning as well as Dan Kuhn who is one of our Wedding Officiates.  This year we were happy to have my brother David join our team as well as a great friend of ours, Ken Delo.  David is one of our Wedding Officiates and Ken is a photographer and on occcasion a Wedding Officiate.  We have the best crew and could not do this without them !!
