WOW, Can you say roller coaster ride? Recently with the oil spill our business has been through one of our toughest times and personally my husband and I have been through one of our most emotional times.  My husband Ray and I have continued to have faith that eventually the leak would be capped and life would continue as it was.....so many couples kept their wedding as planned here on the beautiful Emerald Coast of Florida and we can not thank those couples enough for sticking it out.....they were and continue to be rewarded with the most beautiful sand and water.  Many couples did cancel and it saddens me that they missed out and are missing out on that beautiful beach wedding that they once dreamed of.  As much as BP is to blame for this disaster, they have been by our side to be sure our business and family are taken care of. Now that the well is capped we are praying that clean up efforts will continue and business will pick up.  We have no oil on our beaches and our impact has been very minimal, a minor tar ball here and there.  The clean up crews are here waiting for anything that comes our way, but so far so good!!

What's our Story?  Ray and I met in 1998 at our best friend's wedding (so cliche' but true!), we were friends instantly, I hoped to see him again and he was interested in one of my girlfriends, she was not interested in him, LOL!!  We met up again in October of 1999 and it's history from there.......we married in August of 2000 at a beautiful Civil War Mansion in Murfreesboro, Tennessee just outside of Nashville.  We honeymooned in Destin, Florida........that is what led to our move here in November of 2004.  I carried my real estate license from Tennessee and immediately started selling homes with the booming market that we had here on the Emerald Coast, Ray searched for a full time position in sales and also began DJ'ing for wedding receptions on the weekends.  This is how we started meeting wonderful people in the wedding industry and were offered our own opportunity in February of 2006.  In the beginning our thoughts were for me to run the business just on the weekends, we never expected our business to grow as fast as it did, by July of 2006 Ray was able to retire from corporate America and come and work for me, every wife's dream.....really. :)  Yes we are together every single minute of every single day....it may not work for some married couples, but it works for us and I wouldn't have it any other way.  When we are not working we love spending time with our three children, and on occasion bring them to work with us.  We love to camp, go to Disney and fish, my biggest catch to date was a 3 foot sand shark a couple of years ago, yes they call me Shark Girl ;). We never have much luck fishing, but who really needs to catch fish when you are on the beach, it's a great excuse!!

When you see us on the beach you will be sure to see some of our favorite people working with us.  My parents, Bonnie and Wendell have been with Sunshine since the very beginning as well as Dan Kuhn who is one of our Wedding Officiates.  We also have our great friend Ken Delo on our team who is also a Wedding Officiate and an incredible photographer.  We have the best crew and could not do this without them !!

Whether you decide to book your wedding, photography services, or DJ with Sunshine Wedding Company, we want to thank you for showing an interest and hope that you have enjoyed reading about our exciting business and lives!! :)  We hope to see you on the BEACH!!!
